The Warwick Valley Humane Society, Inc. (WVHS) is a not-for-profit corporation of the State of New York. We were founded in 1954 and have operated the Warwick Animal Shelter since 1968. The WVHS provides Animal Control Services via contracts with the towns of Warwick and Chester. The town of Chester includes the well-known crafts village, Sugar Loaf. We contract with the town of Tuxedo as an impoundment facility. More than 50% of our annual income is derived from fundraising.

Notes: She made the mistake of leaving her yard one too many times and mixed it up with another dog in the neighborhood. Her owner felt responsible for Sammie's actions and although he loves her, he feels he cannot provide a safe place for her. She was heartbreakingly surrendered to the shelter. She loves everybody, except other animals not living in her house. She is obviously protective of her home and needs a fenced-in yard with older kids who can be responsible for her care and safety.

BROKEN DOWN DOGS - WARWICK
Broken Down Dogs, Warwick NY, is an all-volunteer effort active in animal rescue and adoption. They work closely with outside organizations in rescue operations, often arranging treatment and medical care from local veterinarians. They team up with local humane societies in order to properly integrate the treated animals into the community. Contact Debbie Smith at 914-393-5634. She is affiliated with BrokenDownDogs of Alexandria, LA, which is active in organizing convoys to find homes for pets transferred from the hurricane-affected New Orleans and Mississippi coastal areas. |
