New York Gathering at Warwick Center Campgrounds, Hoyt Rd, Warwick, NY 9AM Saturday and ends Sunday afternoon Theme this year: Illness, Wellness and Natural Materials * Cynthia Fletcher is helping organize the Gathering with Dan Mack * So far, 35 people are interested in coming together and about a dozen maybes. Who is Really Coming to this Event? * Cost is $60/day -- with a day fee comped for people sharing a workshop. *

Big Tent of Materials/Tools/Work Areas with time for what develops * Schedule of single activities/workshops every 90 minutes or so by people coming. There will be a minimum of ten shared workshop. Email Cynthia or Dan your interests for this Gathering and we will try to include it in the schedule. Also let us know what skill you'd like to share. * There will again be a Big Swap of Materials and Tools you bring * Carver Eric Bunn has offered a workshop on Sharpening * Dan Mack talks about his work with at-risk youth and natural materials; advertising on Facebook and new thoughts on how rustic mind fits in. * Dan will give a 1 hr summary of the recent Alchemy Seminar * Shekinah Rae presents on Maori healing tools * Dan and Shekinah have their Shaving Horses to work with * Lori Charkey and Mark Becker present on making simple toys, what are watersheds and building a good fire. * Dan or Bill will demonstrate Shaker Seat Weaving * Rich Pillar helps us make rustic sistrams (sistra?) * Bill Olendorf talks about making that Leopold bench and brings a load of jigs for making rustic work... A Tool Head MUST * Lynn Hoins: a workshop and exercises on Journaling * Body Work has a more central place in the Gathering * There are regular Tool Talks and Technique Demos with natural materials What are Woodlanders Gatherings? random photos Woodlanders Gatherings create an atmosphere where people can relax and find the time for hands-on exploration and knowing of the natural world, and develop artful thinking. more What aren't Woodlanders Gatherings? will be in the late summer of 2010 in the village of Warwick NY. Find us listed amongst other jazz festivals on WBGO Jazz Radio site. This event, conceived and produced by local jazz musician Steve Rubin, in cooperation with venues presenting live music, the village of Warwick and local business will be an extension of a vibrant local jazz culture. Warwick and nearby area is home to many jazz musicians including, but not limited to; Mark Egan, Jeff Ciampa, Joe Vincent Tranchina, Gabriele Tranchina, Bob Rosen, Richard Kimball, Dave Smith, Mike Jackson, The New York Swing Exchange, Jon Werking, Dave Edwards, Andy Ezrin, John Arbo, Chris Persad, David Crone, Frank Vignola and James Emery.
