Dec 10 | Historic Vernon NJ Holiday Gift and Bake Sale | 10AM-5PM
The Vernon Township Historical Society will sponsor a Holiday Gift and Bake Sale on December 10, 2011 at the Vernon Township Senior Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Many wonderful handmade gifts and baked goods will be on sale, include pottery, jewelry, furniture, and other artisan wares and crafts. Lois Scordato, best known as the Society s cookie lady, will bake dozens of her delicious all-butter cookies, which will be festively packaged in holiday wrap for sale.
Come sample her cookies and other baked goods, as the Society provides free refreshments and live entertainment for guests in celebration of the holidays. Also on sale will be exquisite jewelry handmade by Phyllis Pfeifer, functional and artistic pottery, tie-dyed silk scarves, skin care products such as body butters and lotions, tupperware, and beautiful children s mohair and faux fur hand knits that are featured and sold in major department stores and boutiques. There will also be fine art on sale as well as book signings by two authors of books on local history.
A new feature this year will be a children s jewelry making table. Ranging in price from $3 to $10, children can make their own jewelry gifts for their loved ones, friends, and teachers for the holidays. The Society will also be selling its books on Vernon and Sussex County history, postcards, note cards, and other items that make great holiday gifts. There will also be several historic displays. Come see the many beautiful and exquisite gifts that will be on sale for the holidays. Artisans and vendors are welcome on a first-come, first served basis as space is limited. The holiday social and gift fair will be held in the Senior Citizens Center, in the back of the Vernon Municipal Center at 21 Church Street in Vernon.
