April-May-June | Earth Day Cell Phone Recycling Campaign
In celebration of Earth Day 2010, St. Stephen’s Parish has joined a cell phone recycling campaign from April 1- June 1. In North America, 130 million cell phones go out of use each year creating 65,000 tons of electronic waste. Did you know that less than 10% of cell phones are recycled? Be stewards of the earth and recycle unused cell phones. Our goal during the months of April and May is to recycle 500 phones. Phones may be brought to the parish office or dropped in the collection bins in the church atrium or school hallway. In addition, to cell phones, laser jet, inkjet, mp3 players, laptop computers and digital cameras can be recycled. Desk top computers, toners, fax cartridges cannot be accepted. For more information, contact Mary Juliano at 987-7235 or jmjuli@warwick.net. |
