The Excelsior Hose Co. #1 is sorry to announce the canceling of the Annual Fall Festival this year due to weather conditions which destroyed much of the Local Farm crops. The Fall Festival which we have run for the past 60 years and over 55 by Past Member Walt O'Dell is only possible with the generous donations by our Local Farmers who donate most of the produce we give away. We feel that it would be insensitive of us to approach the Local Farmers for donations of their produce after suffering so much. We hope they have a better year in 2012 and hope to see everyone at next years Fall Festival, Nov 14 & 15, 2012. Thank You.

Nov 17 | Civil War Panorama:The Sesquicentennial: 1861-2011
The St. Stephen’s Catholic School 7th and 8th Grade students will be hosting their tribute to what has been termed “our central national epic”: The American Civil War. Our project highlights numerous people, battles, and events, as well as a giant map and timeline. Also, there will be student presentations about several curious and interesting facts and highlights from the conflict. The event will be hosted in the St. Stephen’s gym, with touring hours for our school community beginning at 9:00
a.m. and for the general public beginning at 5:00 p.m. There will be two separate half-hour student presentations: 1:00 p.m. for our school community, and at 7:00 p.m. for the general public. This entire project is student inspired, researched, manufactured and presented.

Taking place from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Lycian Centre Pavilion on Saturday, November 19th, this is an event for the whole family to enjoy! Christmas Trees of varying sizes will be on display, beautifully decorated by area businesses and organizations, and will adorn the spacious, glittering room. The trees will be sold by silent auction.

Also available for sale will be pre-wrapped gifts, an array of fine, fun and unique products and services, donated by many generous businesses. Santa will be in attendance to have his knee sat upon and to listen to excited requests from the children. Have your child's picture taken with Santa and then whisk them to the Kids Crafts area to create a holiday keepsake.
