  Hawk's Nest (in Deerpark)
A windy road overlooking the Delaware, with several places for scenic overlooks.
Head north from Warwick onto Route 17 north, then take Interstate-84 to exit 1 (Port Jervis), to East Main St., onto West Main St., to Route 97.

Seven Lakes Drive (Harriman State Park)
Take Route 17 South to Exit 131A onto Route 6. At the first circle turn right onto Seven Lakes Drive
for a long, windy road through a scenic forest, passing seven pristine lakes that are the source of the name.

Pine Island and the Black Dirt Region
Driving in this region used to be problematic, before this extensive swamp area was drained by brilliant Polish and German engineers to reveal a rich, productive farming region, originally formed 12,000 years ago by a glacial lake. Look for the extensive onion fields and other vegetables. Wawayanda creek, that flows through the Village of Warwick, is part of the river system that drains this region. It flows south and meets Pochuck Creek near the Vernon border, and then turns north and joins the Walkill in Pine Island, on its way into the Hudson around the town of Kingston, NY.
