VERNON — Vernon Township Recreation is offering its fall schedule of classes at the Vernon Police Athletic League building. Soccer classes are offered Tuesday and Thursday at 9:45 a.m. or Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. "Let's Have a Ball" classes are Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. or Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The cost for the six-week program is $40 and is open to children ages 4 to 6. Basketball is offered for 4-year-olds on Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. and at 1:15 p.m. for ages 5 to 6. Cost is $45 for six weeks. The department is offering riding lessons for 5- and 6-year-old beginners on Mondays or Thursdays from 2:30 to 3 p.m at High Vista Farms. The semi-private lessons cost $35. Lessons for beginner or advanced riders 7 or older are available Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7 or 7 to 8, and Fridays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $40 per person. Each group is limited to four children. Shoes with heels must be worn and helmets will be provided. Fall bowling at Frontier Lanes for grades K to 4 will be Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m., beginning Sept. 26. Cost is $70 and includes two games, shoes, snacks and a season-ending party. Parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from Frontier Lanes in Warwick, N.Y. New Jersey Teachers Convention Basketball Camp is Nov. 9-10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the PAL building for children ages 7 to 14. The cost is $80. Golf for boys and girls ages 5 to 6 will be Sept. 23, 30 and Oct. 7 from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Cost is $30. Lessons will be held at the David Glenz Academy. Saturday sessions at the David Glenz Academy for children will take place Sept. 16 to Oct. 14 from noon to 1 p.m. Cost is $119. The classes are from 11 a.m. to noon for ages 10 to 15 and noon to 1 p.m. for ages 7 to 10. Register at the PAL building or print off a registration form at www. vernontwp.com. All registration forms can be dropped off in a box located outside the PAL building. Recreation programs start Sept. 25. Registrants will only be notified if classes are full.
