As a first step to beautify the town and to begin the WIB expansion-awareness campaign, residents and business owners are encouraged to join in a doorway adornment contest called Show Me the Door.  The contest is being sponsored by Warwick in Bloom. Participants can showcase their gardening and decorating talents for the areas surrounding their doors, gates or other entryways.  Warwick in Bloom Chairperson, Marge King Porter, an established gardener and designer, hopes participants will use their imagination to create a special door.  Marge said, “The entrance may be filled with hanging baskets of flowers or fruits, flags, arbors, lawn ornaments, or any other combination of plants and features; which ever reflects their passion to create a welcome for visitors and friends.”

Show Me the Door judging will take place on JULY 24, so those entering the contest will have plenty of time to cultivate their ideas. Entry fee for participants is $10.00. Participants’ doorways will be included on a tour map that will be sold for $10.00 each and will include directions for self-guided tours.  All entries will be judged by a Warwick in Bloom committee from each Village.
